ASCO電磁閥選型首先應該依次遵循安全性，可靠性，適用性，經濟性四大原則，其次是根據六個方面的現場工況（即管道參數、流體參數、壓力參數、電氣參數、動作方式、特殊要求進行選擇）。
ASCO電磁閥一般電磁閥不防水，在條件不允許時請選用防水型，工廠可以定做。
ASCO電磁閥電磁閥的*高標定公稱壓力一定要超過管路內的*高壓力，否則使用壽命會縮短或產生其它意外情況。
ASCO電磁閥有腐蝕性液體的應選用全不銹鋼型，強腐蝕性流體宜選用塑料王（SLF）電磁閥。
ASCO電磁閥爆炸性環境必須選用相應的防爆產品。
ASCO電磁閥分為常閉和常開二種；一般選用常閉型，通電打開，斷電關閉；但在開啟時間很長關閉時很短時要選用常開型了。
ASCO電磁閥壽命試驗，工廠一般屬于型式試驗項目，確切地說我國還沒有電磁閥的專業標準，因此選用電磁閥廠家時慎重。
ASCO電磁閥動作時間很短頻率較高時一般選取直動式，大口徑選用快速系列
