based on the groundbreaking book ‘Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things’ by William McDonough and Michael Braungart, the Cradle to Cradle Certified? Product Standard guides designers and manufacturers through a continual improvement process - from BASIC to PLATINUM level - to aim for products that do more good instead of merely being less bad.
根據(jù)開創(chuàng)性的書《從搖籃到搖籃》:由William McDonough和Michael Braungart所著的“重塑我們制造事物的方式”，從搖籃到搖籃認證?產(chǎn)品標準指導(dǎo)設(shè)計師和制造商通過一個持續(xù)改進的過程-從銅*到白金*-目標是生產(chǎn)出更多的好產(chǎn)品，而不僅僅是減少壞產(chǎn)品。


Quality is defined by five criteria categories:

MATERIAL HEALTH 材料的健康
Product ingredients are inventoried throughout the supply chain and evaluated for impact on human and environmental health. The criteria at each level build towards the expectation of eliminating all toxic and unidentified chemicals and becoming nutrients for a safe, continuous cycle.
在整個供應(yīng)鏈中清點產(chǎn)品成分，并評估其對人類和環(huán)境健康的影響。每一層的標準都是為了消除所有有毒和未識別的化學(xué)品，成為安全、連續(xù)循環(huán)的營養(yǎng)素。
MATERIAL REUTILIZATION 材料二次利用
Products are designed either to biodegrade safely as a biological nutrient or to be recycled into new products as a technical nutrient. At each level continued progress must be made towards increasing the recovery of materials and keeping them in continuous cycles.
產(chǎn)品要么作為一種生物營養(yǎng)素被安全地生物降解，要么作為一種技術(shù)營養(yǎng)素被回收成新產(chǎn)品。在每一層面上都必須不斷取得進展，以提高材料的回收率，并使其保持在連續(xù)的循環(huán)中。
RENEWABLE ENERGY AND CARBON MANAGEMENT 可再生能源和碳管理
The criteria at each level build towards powering all operations with ** renewable energy possible carbon emissions being compensated, thus making the production climate positive.

WATER STEWARDSHIP 水的管理
Processes are designed to regard water as a precious resource for all living things. At each level, progress is made towards cleaning up effluent to drinking water standards.

SOCIAL FAIRNESS 社會公平
Company operations are designed to celebrate all people and natural systems and progress is made towards having an overall beneficial impact on the people and the planet.

FIVE LEVELS OF PRODUCT CERTIFICATION 產(chǎn)品認證的五個*別
Depending on the assessment in the separate categories, a product can be certified at Basic, Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum level. The product receives a certification level for each category. The lowest certification level that has been achieved defines the overall certificate level of the product. The certification must be renewed every three years. During the re-certification process, particular attention is paid to whether the strategies for optimizing/retiring materials or substances from the previous certification process are being implemented and whether the company is pursuing strategies in the area of renewable energy, social aspects and water issues.
